<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><?xml-stylesheet href="http://www.blogger.com/styles/atom.css" type="text/css"?><feed xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom' xmlns:openSearch='http://a9.com/-/spec/opensearchrss/1.0/' xmlns:georss='http://www.georss.org/georss' xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0'><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5959648896204790575</id><updated>2011-07-08T03:04:11.171-07:00</updated><title type='text'>Kingdom Culture</title><subtitle type='html'>exploring the making of culture</subtitle><link rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#feed' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://ygkc.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5959648896204790575/posts/default?max-results=100'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ygkc.blogspot.com/'/><link rel='hub' href='http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/'/><author><name>younguns</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03531848100130399429</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><generator version='7.00' uri='http://www.blogger.com'>Blogger</generator><openSearch:totalResults>1</openSearch:totalResults><openSearch:startIndex>1</openSearch:startIndex><openSearch:itemsPerPage>100</openSearch:itemsPerPage><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5959648896204790575.post-7893888846435785486</id><published>2009-08-08T23:00:00.001-07:00</published><updated>2009-08-08T23:14:11.171-07:00</updated><title type='text'>heart</title><content type='html'>a few nights ago tony and i (nick) were praying and thinking about young guns and what it would and could be like. after i questioned tony about the reason for us doing this and then some follow up questions as a response this is what we came up with..&lt;div&gt;the reasons for young guns, for doing this &lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"&gt;thing&lt;/span&gt; to begin with:&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;1. to preach the gospel. simply enough. the gospel was, and i believe, and still is the good news. jesus christ loved us before we loved him and he showed this love by submitting to the father's will and being killed in our place. he laid down his life for us. this is the good news. there is no better story. young guns needs to be and will be about preaching the good news, about jesus, about him high and lifted up. it will be about people hearing again and again this transforming story.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;2. to create opportunities for the gospel to be lived out. or literally to see people be changed by God and then respond through their words, deeds and life. we can preach the gospel all day but if people aren't being transformed and changed then something needs to be done.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;3. to create space for a priesthood of all believers. all, young and old, christians are priests, but many times we passively sit in our pews and let our pastors and elders do the ministering. we desire that all people learn to be ministers, to be priests of God. but in order for this to happen people must know it's ok to fail and make mistakes. and in order for that to happen there needs to be space for mistakes to happen. thats what we want to be. we want to preach, teach but also allow for people to learn and fail and then try again and again.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;these were the three things that we came up with. there are many more, but for the most part they fall gently in one of these categories. then tony asked me a pointed question. he asked what was the reason for all these. i mean if these are the reasons we are doing young guns then what is the reason for these ... being our reasons??
